From 9 to 11 June 2023, the second edition of the IFSC Boulder World Cup took place in the unique facility in Brixen. The world’s 200 best boulderers competed in the Vertikale Climbing Stadium. For three days, the Vertikale was bursting at the seams and turned into a witch’s cauldron with a stadium atmosphere. The British Toby Roberts and the US-American Natalia Grossman crowned themselves more than deserving winners in front of more than 2500 enthusiastic fans each.
The competition calendar of the International Climbing Federation ISFC does not include a World Cup stage in Brixen for 2024 due to the qualification for the Olympic Games. The organisers around the Alpine Club South Tyrol and the Italian climbing federation FASI are working hard to get a place in the World Cup calendar for 2025 to 2027 – the decision will be made in summer 2024. Then Brixen should once again become an international climbing city. Stay tuned!
